|
Luk Pra Kob is the Thai tradition of using steam heated herbs in a cotton compress to treat ailments. The herbs are dried and ground and mixed together and commonly include Ginger, Lemon grass, Eucalyptus, Camphor, Tumeric. Each of the herbs is classifieid according to the 3 major "tastes": "Hot"- which penetrates the skin to effect the muscles and tendons , "Sour" which have a microcidial and bacteriacidial effect, cleaning the skin, and "Aromatic" having a particular aroma or effect on the bronchial system. Apart from being a luxurious experience, Luk Pra Kob is very effective, being used in village hospitals in Thailand to treat numerous conditions. The cotton compress used at Il centro are made by ourselves so we can guarantee the quality of the ingredients. Our practitioner has trained in the UK, thailand and Italy in addition to being a clinical massage intern at a rural hospital in Thailand and teaching in a clinic for therapeutic massage by the blind in Chiang mai, thailand.
